Kew Gardens launch Orchids and flowers that will last and last

The Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, in partnership with Floralsilk, is delighted to announce an industry-first, their launch of a stunning co-ordinated collection of replica flowers and plants inspired by their world-famous gardens.  The Kew Gardens Collection features beautiful replicas of tropical species such as potted Orchids and Lily arrangements alongside Roses, Tulips and other classic English garden flowers.

The Kew Gardens Collection will be launched on the Floralsilk stand at the International Spring Fair, NEC, Birmingham from 7-11 February 2010 (Hall 5, Stand K28/M29 and Stand J12/K13).  It will be refreshed seasonally with new products and designs.

The Collection has something for every budget, with recommended retail prices ranging from £15 to £175.  Products include:

·         A range of Orchids inspired by Kew’s very own Orchid Collection, including Phalaenopsis Orchids, Cymbidium Orchids and Dancing Orchids

·         Flowering plants such as Amaryllis and Narcissi

·         Mixed Flower Arrangements, such as Peonies with Viburnum and Casablanca Lilies with Roses & Curly Willow

·         Single Flower Arrangements, such as Tulips and Hydrangeas

·         Christmas & Seasonal Centrepieces

·         Floral Stems including Parrot Tulips, Magnolia and Torch Ginger.

The Kew seal of approval is not easy to come by, “We only partner with the very best companies in their field and Floralsilk stood out from their competition.” says Quincy Leon, Head of Licensing at Kew.  Leon adds, “The Kew flowers and plants are exceptionally life-like and we are delighted to extend our brand to this new product category.”

Kew Gardens have put their well-known name on a number of carefully selected products that are now selling successfully on the high street.  These include plant pots by Terrace & Garden, tableware by Creative Tops and bodycare products by Bath House.

“We are very proud to be working with Kew Gardens and to be the first company to launch a recognised brand into our industry, something which is already exciting our customers.  Kew is a British institution and the Kew brand has such a weight of positive feeling towards it. ” says Liam O’Flaherty, Sales Director of Floralsilk.  The Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew is a world-leader in plant science and conservation.  Every purchase from the Kew Collection will contribute towards Kew’s vital work.
