Keep the cheer in your décor, even after Christmas!

Published: 07/01/2025

It’s amazing how quickly Christmas comes and goes. One minute your home is decked out with opulence and sparkle, the next you’re packing up the baubles to store away for another year. It’s a sad moment when the last decoration comes down, often making our interiors feel a little lacklustre, but fear not, we’ve put together some simple ways to brighten your home after the Christmas décor disappears.

With these tips you can refresh your interiors and keep the decorative spirit alive all year round. What better way to chase away those January blues?

      1.Swap one tree for another

Greenery is always a mood lightener so taking your Christmas tree down is a sad moment. Why not swap one tree for another and keep the green theme going! Whether you have a large space to fill or just a tabletop, artificial trees and faux potted plants are the perfect, maintenance-free option to freshen up any corner of your home.

      2. Update your wreath for the year ahead

Think wreaths are just for Christmas? Think again! Take away the Christmas trimmings and replace with a simple foliage or flower-adorned wreath. This added interest to your door or wall can create a beautiful welcome, with minimal effort.

      3. Drape a non-festive garland

Garlands are incredibly versatile and there are many different ways you can use them around your house. Drape a beautiful floral garland along tables, mantelpieces, shelves, or even wind one up your staircase for the ultimate year-round pick-me-up.

4.Add Spring colours to your florals

Pack away your winter arrangements and your berry and fir centrepieces and instead think about injecting brighter, spring colours into your floral mix. The beauty of faux means you can display your favourite flower, whatever the time of year. Some of our most loved January pieces include blossom and tulips. Arrange in assorted jars and rustic vases for a light and natural feel.

      5. Continue to have a beautifully set table

Just because you don’t have the whole family descending on you every mealtime, doesn’t mean you have to ditch the beautifully-dressed table. Sitting down to a lovely place setting on a January evening is a lovely treat, so grab your garlands and floral centrepieces and be inspired with the tips included in our table scaping blog.

Make 2025 the year that you don’t let your decorating stop with Christmas, get creative and have fun with your January refresh!
