Being botanically based and conscious consumers ourselves, the Floralsilk team take a considered approach to how our collections are created, picked and delivered. Our values balance offering beautifully realistic artificial flowers, faux plants and home décor, with reducing impact on the world where we can.

A Considered Alternative to Fresh Flowers

Artificial flowers often have less environmental impact than regularly having fresh cut flowers in your home. Fresh flowers are often grown using pesticides and then transported to their destination by air freight or refrigerated lorries. These modes of transport produce significant greenhouse emissions – around 60–80% more than shipping by sea freight.

At Floralsilk we:

• Ship all our bulk lines by sea freight rather than air
• Consolidate our containers to reduce transport impact
• Curate and pioneer our Eco Range of artificial flowers, made from recycled materials

Designed to last season after season, there’s no ongoing waste from repeat purchasing, and our measured approach to long-term styling is in line with how our customers decorate today.

Thoughtful Packaging

We are continuously auditing and monitoring our UK warehouse processes for packing and delivery, taking steps where possible to switch to greener alternatives. These include:

• Using FSC-certified cardboard boxes, meaning the cardboard is sourced from responsibly managed forests
• Reusing cardboard and packaging where possible
• Using recyclable paper packing tape
• Using solar energy to support warehouse operations

Reducing Plastic

By nature, artificial flowers inevitably contain some plastic, but they are not designed to be single-use and are normally used for the long term. To mitigate this, we:

• Reduce plastic where possible (e.g. paper-wrapped bouquets over plastic)
• Transition towards alternative materials in our floral and Christmas ranges, including paper, felt, glass, metal and wood
• Explore fully home-recyclable artificial flowers

Our approach offers long-term improvement opportunities whilst providing products that customers want to keep in their home over time.

People & Responsible Partnerships

Not only is our physical environment important, but so are the people we share it with.

At Floralsilk, we:

• Build long-term partnerships with suppliers, agents and factories
• Conduct regular visits and audits

In the UK, we work with several charities by donating stock to create better spaces, encourage education and reduce waste. Through such product donations, organisations such as Cancer Research UK have generated over £60,000 in additional funds as a result of such stock within their shops.
