Ikebana Style Tulip & Blossom

A touch of Japan

Ikebana is the centuries-old Japanese art of flower arranging. The practice, roughly translates to “making flowers come alive,” and it uses carefully selected blossoms, foliage and flowers. The aim is to create a work of art, more like a sculpture where the placement of each stem is considered carefully.

We have experimented here with a couple of our favourite Spring faux flowers… the Tulip and the Blossom. A short vessel is well suited to Ikebana so we have used our Cream Planter. By bending the stems at different heights you can create an invidiual look and the bent stem will support iteself in the vase. When you have finished creating your own 'work of art', use some natural moss to hide the stems and finish off the look of your arrangement.

Once you get started, you'll love this style of contemporary flower arranging.
